Welcome

This site is built to completely dedicate to all my children — “The Boys”. Yes, I am a lucky parent whose children are all boys.

If you are one of The Boys visiting, you know you have come to a safe place to seek answers to your burning questions.

If you are someone who stumbled upon here by accident or being directed by Mr. GoogleKnowItAll, you are welcome to have a look around. It will be my pleasure if you find anything that strike a chord with you or find anything useful to you. If you find any of the topics discussed here is unpleasant to you, please leave quietly, I am not worth your while to waste time and energy to tear apart to pieces.

In the last 10 years, going from a 4 girls household who had virtually no parental presence and guidance, to living with 4 boys and became the primary carer of the family was a steep learning curve.

As my eldest son’s 10th birthday was fast approaching, I found myself at the foot of yet another mountain. His defiance had become more prominent day by day. My proven problem solving methods that was developed on the younger him and continued work on his younger bothers, do not work on him any more. I was thrown back to the darkest days when I had him in my arms as a new born bundle.

10 years is a long time looking ahead, yet it was a blip in the rear vision mirror. A lot of people would say our family is a “very young one”, but as a family, we had been through so much, the easy times, hard times, scary times and laughed-so-much-my-tummy-hurts times, and the places we left our foot prints on, the experience we shared, the stack of photo books we made together … Last 10 years stacked up to much more than all my years prior to these 10.

For my boys, if you are reading these and felt left out because you were born much too late to the party, guess what, you are actually the lucky one because you still have time to imagine “what would I do when I was my older brothers’ age?”, whilst the older boys don’t have that luxury of time any more. Our family is like your hand, mum is the thumb, the boys are the 4 fingers which look all similar but are all different, and we all joined by the palm where we meet and share.

This site is a very brief collection of what we had been through as a family of 5. As time goes on, the collection might grow, might shrink, some topics might not be relevant any more. To help navigation, the collection is divided into 4 sections.

  1. Where we left footprints — This is where you can get more info about a place you want to revisit, or want to visit because you heard other boys talked about so much.
  2. Running the tummy — Instructions on how to make those “keeper” things for your tummy.
  3. Are we there yet — Weapons for boring times.
  4. Lectures to The Boys — A place for those big life questions that needs more than 2 minutes to answer/read.
